Top executives at Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Co. have publicly criticized the leadership of the United Auto Workers (UAW) as a strike at all three Detroit automakers enters its 15th day. Ford CEO Jim Farley accused the union of “holding the deal hostage” over the automaker’s planned electric-vehicle battery plants, while GM CEO Mary Barra claimed that the UAW has “no real intent to get to an agreement.” The criticism came as the strike expanded to new plants at Ford and GM, affecting a total of 25,300 autoworkers.
