3 Charleston apartment projects to bring nearly 1,000 units | Real Estate

Three new apartment developments are set to bring nearly 1,000 new units to the growing Point Hope project in South Carolina’s largest city. One of the developers, Ohio-based Lifestyle Communities, already has a presence in the Charleston area and plans to build a 449-unit complex on Clements Ferry Road. The development will include four four-story buildings with 95 units each, as well as three-story row houses with varying unit sizes.

In addition to Lifestyle Communities, other developers have plans for apartments in the Point Hope project. TBC Development LLC, based in Mount Pleasant, plans to build a 192-unit apartment development called Berkshire on a 63-acre tract on Clements Ferry Road. Another 305-unit apartment project is planned along Clements Ferry Road by Capstone Communities, a Birmingham, Alabama-based developer. The Capstone project will also include nearly 36,000 square feet of retail space.

The Point Hope project is shaping up to be a significant addition to the housing options in the Charleston area. With multiple developers investing in the area, it indicates confidence in the city’s growth and demand for more housing. These new apartment developments will provide a range of options, from larger complexes to row houses, catering to different needs and preferences.

In addition to the Point Hope project, other housing developments are also underway in the Charleston area. Stanley Martin Homes, based in Mount Pleasant, has purchased a 16-acre tract on Lincolnville Road for a new housing development. The company plans to build about three dozen homes on cul-de-sacs, and site work is currently underway.

The Ladson area south of Lincolnville is also seeing new housing development. Stanley Martin Homes paid $1.72 million for a nearly 16-acre tract on Lincolnville Road, and the project will include various home types, providing options for potential buyers.

The Charleston area is experiencing significant growth in both residential and commercial sectors. The recently opened Indigo Shopping Center in North Charleston has already attracted new tenants, with Oh La La Salons leasing over 11,000 square feet in six suites for its hair, makeup, and nail art spaces. Tengda Construction LLC has also leased nearly 10,000 square feet for warehouse use. The remaining tenant spaces in the center are expected to be filled soon.

These new housing and commercial developments are a testament to the strong demand and opportunities in the Charleston area.
